Graffiti removal and protection

NANOCOATINGS® anti-graffiti treatments create on the surface a protective barrier with high adhesion and resistance, designed to prevent paints and defacing materials from anchoring firmly to the substrate. The coating, based on silicon dioxide (SiO₂), also protects the surface from moisture, limits the build-up of dirt and helps keep it easier to clean over time. The treatment can be applied to many surfaces, including those that are already painted, and is particularly suitable for vehicles, street furniture, façades, wall coverings and items exposed to vandalism.

After treatment, graffiti can be removed more easily using neutral or alcohol-based detergents and, in the case of particularly rough surfaces, with the help of a soft-bristle brush. The surface can be cleaned several times without having to reapply the product after each intervention, except in conditions of heavy mechanical wear. The high uniformity of the coating reduces the adhesion of defacing materials and makes it possible to limit maintenance time and costs, avoiding in many cases more invasive interventions or the replacement of damaged elements.

Anti-graffiti treatments can be applied to:

  • marble, stone and travertine
  • plaster and mineral surfaces
  • metals
  • wood
  • plastics
  • ceramics
  • painted surfaces

In the case of particularly porous substrates it may be necessary to apply a specific primer in order to optimise the adhesion and performance of the treatment. The protection is permanent over time in the absence of heavy mechanical wear or abrasion of the surface.

GRAFFITI REMOVAL

NANOCOATINGS® has specific products for the removal of graffiti and defacement caused by spray cans and permanent markers, with solutions selected according to the type of surface and the nature of the paint to be removed.
The treatments can be used on:

natural stones of every kind

exposed brick

concrete

concrete blocks

undecorated plaster

metals

plastics and resins

wood

The products are applied directly to the affected area and left to act for the necessary time, helping the defacement to detach and be removed through a selective action on the paint.
To remove residues, where compatible with the substrate, we recommend using high-pressure water, preferably hot, so as to minimise the need for mechanical intervention on the surface.
The choice of product and removal cycle is always assessed according to the material to be treated, with the aim of achieving maximum effectiveness while preserving as far as possible the appearance and integrity of the original support.
